1. Define the results you want to obtain through your Web site in a Web Plan, with specific, measurable objectives (e.g., "to generate at least 20 new contacts from potential clients per year, resulting in at least five additional contracts for services").
2. Ask for e-mail feedback on the site relevant to your objectives from those who visit it.
3. If appropriate, include an evaluation form on your site to get more detailed feedback relevant to your goals and objectives.
4. Continuously review the feedback and make changes in the site to reflect the needs of your target audiences and focus on your desired results.
5. Periodically, ask leaders in your field, representatives of target audiences and others knowledgeable about the Web to evaluate your site objectively vis a vis its objectives.
6. At least once a year, prepare a formal, written evaluation of the site against your Web plan and recommend changes needed to refocus on the results you want to achieve.
